Viaggiare è un modo fantastico per scoprire il mondo, persone nuove e costumi diversi. Inoltre, ci offre l’occasione perfetta per esercitare tutto ciò che abbiamo imparato durante l’anno scolastico continuando a parlare l’inglese durante le vacanze. L’inglese è un alleato in vacanza… oltre ad essere la chiave che apre le porte a tantissime belle esperienze! Perciò quest’estate vi invitiamo a utilizzare le vacanze per scoprire nuove culture e tradizioni.

Termini di Viaggio: Travel, Trip e Journey

Travel, trip e journey hanno significati molto simili ma non esattamente uguali. Generalmente usiamo la parola travel per parlare del viaggiare o di un viaggio in modo generico. Trip serve per parlare di viaggi più brevi e concreti di cui già conosciamo le date di partenza e ritorno o con obiettivi molto chiari. Usiamo trip per riferirci anche alle gite.

Sicuramente avrete sentito più di una volta le espressioni: road trip che indica i viaggi in macchina; business trip per i viaggi d’affari; a day trip per le gite in giornata; o school trip, per riferirsi alle gite scolastiche. Journey è la parola che usiamo invece per parlare dei tragitti. In questo caso, l’attenzione è più sul percorso che sulla destinazione anche se a volte viene utilizzato journey per parlare di trip più lunghi.

Trasporti e Alloggi

Qual è la vostra destinazione e come la raggiungerete? In aereo, in autobus, in nave, ...! Come preferite viaggiare? Ci sono innumerevoli mezzi di trasporto per le vacanze e sceglieremo l'uno o l'altro in funzione della destinazione e delle attività in programma. Se andiamo molto lontano probabilmente viaggeremo in aereo, ma possiamo anche muoverci comodamente in treno, in auto o addirittura in bicicletta!

Se le possibilità di trasporto sono infinite, altrettanto può dirsi delle modalità di alloggio. I più piccoli sicuramente amano andare in campeggio o trascorrere qualche giorno in fattoria. Se andate invece in città, potrete alloggiare in un albergo, in un ostello o in una pensione. Potreste anche affittare un appartamento.

How long will it take me to get to the gate? (Quanto tempo ci vorrà per arrivare al gate?) About thirty minutes.
